what's protected(ish)

Hart's Mill, built in 1855 (above left) and the Adelaide Milling Company mill, built in 1889 (above right) are both protected under State Heritage legislation, although, as we've witnessed on a number of occasions over the last few years (with the Mission to Seamen building at Outer Harbour, and more lately with the Adelaide University's Union Hall), having heritage protection doesn't necessarily mean that the buildings are safe from the demolition ball.
